Labor Day

Parades, rodeo, carnival midway, live music and so much more. For 117 years Wagner, South Dakota has celebrated Labor Day with a big celebration.

We found some real cool crap. It made me wonder how I've made it this far without big steel lawn Minions, a 1950's stuffed Muskie, or a big metal Bullhead??

Mother Nature sent summer out with a bang, by destroying more than a dozen homes in southeastern South Dakota this Labor Day weekend.

As a taxpayer, you will have be able to cast a vote to determine how the Sioux Falls School District sets future calendars.

Even though we just had the unofficial opening weekend of summer, it's already time to start making camping reservations on what is considered to be the last weekend of summer.

Unless you had a personal stake in a film being released this weekend, movies were far from the most important thing happening to you these past couple of days. You can blame the weekend's mostly anemic box office on one thing: the Super Bowl. Everyone spent their money buying snacks and preparing their parties and not going to see 'That Awkward Moment' and 'Labor Day,' both of which opened soft.

You don't really intend to work this weekend do you?  Come on, take a break. I know you may have that end-of-the-quarter report to finish.  Or that end-of-summer-project at home to take of.  But really, you need to enjoy this Labor Day weekend with your family and friends...

Labor Day Weekend!  What does it mean to you?  This year I am spending Labor Day weekend doing some state park camping en-route to time with family and friends at beautiful Sissebagamah RV Resort on Bay Lake near Deerwood, Mn.  There is nothing quite like the blessing of gathering together with people you really treasure...
