Startup Sioux Falls is opening its newly renovated $1.3 million downtown headquarters and it's amazing!
It's been a long evolution to get where Startup Sioux Falls is today in the historic building at 100 E. Sixth Street downtown.
The metamorphosis of Startup Sioux Falls's new location in the remolded and repurposed Milwaukee Freight Depot is impressive, to say the least.
Brienne Maner, President of Startup Sioux Falls, recently honored Patty Dee and me with a tour of the new complex.
I asked Brienne to give some insight into exactly what Startup Sioux Falls does and brings to our city and what she envisions for the future.
Here is Brienne's brilliant insightful response to my inquiry...
"Startup Sioux Falls broke ground on the renovation of a historic downtown building with a ceremonial wall-smashing event in May of 2022. Nine months later, the organization will open the doors of its new headquarters to over 140 members this week.
Membership levels include: a Social Club membership for networking and discounts, a Hot Desk membership for coworking, building and small business resource access, and discounted meeting rooms, and a Dedicated Desk membership for those who want to own their own desk inside of the space to work day to day.
What can members as well as the general public expect when they walk through the doors? The 5,500-square-foot facility includes coworking space, dedicated desks, and private offices for entrepreneurs and remote workers who want an affordable and vibrant space in the heart of the city to get work done. When the weather’s nice, our members can also utilize our beautiful wrap-around deck, enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city, and work outside.
The facility also offers several meeting rooms of various capacities ranging from a 4-person collaboration room to a multi-purpose room that holds nearly 90. These rooms are available to members at a discounted rate as well as outside rentals from the general public who are interested in hosting business-related activities. Sorry - no weddings or birthday parties!
The technology available inside the space includes 5G high-speed internet with access points throughout the space to ensure there’s no downtime, Zoom conference capabilities, online booking, door access for members, and digital displays throughout the facility to communicate the day’s activities and what is coming up.

Last, the Startup Sioux Falls team + community looks forward to becoming an active participant in the already vibrant downtown area through its partnerships with the Levitt Pavilion (adjacent to the building), the DTSF organization to participate in First Fridays and other programming, activation of our corner at 6th & Phillips with outdoor events, and last but certainly not least - a place where the greater business community can interact with innovative founders and startups and create a think tank to help bolster diversified economic and workforce development in our great city.
