South Dakota Outdoor Lovers to See a Few New Fee Increases in 2016
Those wishing to enjoy the great outdoors here in South Dakota can expect to pay a little more this year.
The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Commission approved a few fee increases last November that have now gone into effect.
With the New Year comes a $2.00 fee to reserve a campsite at a South Dakota state park if you're making the reservation by phone. However, no fee will be charged for all reservations made online.
If you're like me, and love to spend a little quality time in Custer State Park every chance you get, you should know that a seven-day vehicle pass for the park now costs $20.00, last up $5.00 from last year.
Another change, the daily entrance fee for the George S. Mickelson Trail has increased from $3.00 to $4.00.
