A storage unit in Sioux Falls was broken into early Wednesday morning.

Sioux Falls Police Department Information Officer Sam Clemens says one of the stolen items has since been recovered---thanks to Facebook.

"Television, refrigerator and carpet cleaner were taken. Later during the day viewers saw an ad on Facebook that offered a refrigerator for sale. It looked like the victim's appliance. They arranged to meet the man in the southwest part of Sioux Falls and then called police.
Officers were nearby. Once the victim recognized the refrigerator, he waved at the officer. He came over and arrested the suspect. The man had bolt cutters in his car."

Clemens says social media produced results.

"If this guy hadn't put the ad out on Facebook there was probably a slim chance we would have caught him. The eyes of the victim's friends helped in finding the property through Facebook.

Clemens says 36-year-old Nicholas McMahon of Sioux Falls was arrested on several charges, including possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property.
