Sioux Falls Police Results Of 5 Multi-Agency Saturation Patrols
The Sioux Falls Police posted the results of the Big 5 multi-agency saturation patrols they conducted so far in 2024.
The Sioux Falls Police Department partnered with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Highway Patrol, and Minnehaha County Reserves to combat high-speed driving and reckless driving.
The Sioux Falls Police Department received a grant from the South Dakota Office of Highway Safety for extra enforcement to make roads safer.
So far in 2024, there have been five multi-agency saturation patrols held to enforce speeding and traffic-related issues.
To date, police have spent over 3,700 hours looking for speeders, racers, and reckless driving.
The results of the multi-agency saturation patrols in March-August 2024 include:
- Citations = 775
- Arrests = 55
- Exhibition Driving / Eluding = 15
From Jan. 1 – Aug. 25 the Sioux Falls Police Saturation Patrols netted:
- DWI Arrests = 54
- Speeding citations = 3,653
- Reckless / Racing = 35
The Sioux Falls Police reminds motorists that they can help curb these issues by sharing information with the police department.
If you see a motorcycle or vehicle speeding or driving recklessly, any video or pictures can be used to help investigate the crime.
The information can be sent anonymously to investigators by using the CrimeStoppers P3 app.
People can send videos of motorcycles or cars, pictures of license plates, the suspect’s clothing, or even the suspect’s motorcycle/vehicle.
