Sioux Falls Crime Spree: Police Investigate Series Of Robberies
Sioux Falls police continue to investigate a rash of robberies that hit the city last week.
Four separate robberies occurred last week in a very short span of time in Sioux Falls.
Dakota News Now is reporting that the first robbery occurred around 3:00 AM on Thursday, (October 31) when a Sioux Falls man was robbed while inside his apartment.
Authorities say the victim was inside his apartment when the suspect, someone he knew came inside armed with a baseball bat and struck the victim. The suspect then proceeded to take the victim's wallet, along with some tools that were also inside the apartment at the time of the crime.
The next robbery occurred around 10:00 AM that same morning. According to Dakota News Now, the suspect in this case threatened the victim with a gun and took his wallet. However, the victim gave police conflicting stories during his testimony, therefore authorities are still investigating the validity of the crime.
A third robbery occurred around 11:15 AM on Friday, (November 1). Dakota News Now reports that the victim was sitting inside her car with three other acquaintances when they threatened her with a handgun and took her purse.
The fourth robbery happened around 3:30 AM on Saturday, (November 2). This time a passenger was sitting inside a vehicle that was running when three people approached the car and threatened the passenger with a gun. The victim was forced out of the vehicle and the suspects took off with the car.
Police have yet to make any arrests tied to the four robberies.
