The grass is starting to green up, and the city of Sioux Falls is beginning to shift into spring and summer mode.

The city announced on Tuesday, (April 22) that it is now in the process of getting the city parks and trails system ready for the Spring and Summer season.

Josh Johnson, Park Operations Manager for Sioux Falls, told Dakota News Now, “We’re finally getting to a point now where we’re starting to see some really nice weather and great overnight temperatures. Those overnight temps are what will really help us push through."

Maintenance and expansion coming to portions of the Sioux Falls trail system.

Johnson told Dakota News Now, "Residents can expect to see construction throughout some overlay projects and expansion in one area near Lien Park. Also, be on the lookout for construction on Cliff Avenue with the expansion of that intersection with 229. The trail is always a busy place. It’s our most used asset we have, so we just ask users to be respectful and just mindful of everyone.”
