Sioux Falls Parks to Transform Into A Floral Masterpiece This Summer
So, what did you get done last week? Clean out the garage? Finally return that Amazon package that’s been riding shotgun in your car since February? Maybe you did a little planting?
If that's the case, you're not alone; the city of Sioux Falls did a little planting of its own. To the tune of more than 23,000 flowers popping up in Sioux Falls city parks.
Kinda hard to top that, isn't it?

Crews from the Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation Department, along with a small army of volunteers, spent last week turning our city into something straight out of a Van Gogh painting. Crews were busy planting marigolds, petunias, dahlias, and a whole lot of other colorful flowers inside flower beds across parks all over town.
Now there are 23,000 more reasons why Sioux Falls city parks will be looking a little extra “inviting this summer."
Sioux Falls resident Loran Cipala summed it up perfectly when she told Dakota News Now that it’s important to keep parks clean and inviting so families, kids, and, honestly, anyone needing a break from life can get outside and enjoy all the beautiful Sioux Falls city parks.
The Parks & Rec crew wants to make a point of thanking everyone who rolled up their sleeves and helped with the planting effort. And if you didn’t volunteer, don’t worry, your job is simple: go enjoy it. Take a walk, pack a lunch, or just cruise through and admire the views.
One small request, though, look, don’t pick. As tempting as it might be to snag a few of these beauties for your kitchen table, the flowers are here for everyone to enjoy. Basically, the city feels the flowers look much nicer in our city parks than they would inside your home.
So make it a point this spring and summer to check out the over 80 Sioux Falls city parks to see all the different things they have to offer.
