Soup and sandwich chain Panera Bread said it is recalling cream cheese products sold in its United States restaurants over possible Listeria contamination. Globe News Wire is reporting Panera Bread is preemptively recalling all 2 oz. & 8 oz. Cream Cheese products.

Panera announced the recall on Sunday out of what they called 'an abundance of caution. No illnesses have been reported at this time. Listeria is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Affected 2 oz. Cream Cheese Varieties: Plain Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Plain Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Chive & Onion Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Honey Walnut Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Wild Blueberry Cream Cheese.

Affected 8 oz. Cream Cheese Varieties: Plain Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Plain Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Chive & Onion Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Honey Walnut Cream Cheese, Reduced-Fat Wild Blueberry Cream Cheese.
