
Aberdeen Residents Warned About Police Impersonation Scam
Someone is calling Aberdeen residents pretending to be a police officer and the police department is warning people not to fall for this latest scam.
Dakota News Now is reporting that the person who calls indicates there is some legal matter involving the person being called that needs immediate action. However, the Aberdeen police department is warning that they will never call and ask for money to prevent a warrant or jail time.
The caller claims to be a "Detective Tim Morgan." The phone number is 605-301-5542 and the voicemail message says "“You have reached the Aberdeen Police Department all deputies are busy leave a message.”
If you don't answer the call you are directed to call back through Brown County Dispatch.
People who have received this scam call are asked to contact Brown County Dispatch at 605-626-7911.
