Sioux Falls Extreme Heat Closes Great Plains Zoo Early

With an excessive heat warning for the Sioux Empire in effect through Wednesday night, the Great Plains Zoo is making a move to protect its animals and guests from the hot summer weather.

Their Facebook page announced early closings for today through Wednesday:

They invite visitors to head for the cooler temps at the Butterfly House & Aquarium at Sertoma Park, off of 49th Street from 10 AM to 4 PM every day.
