Sioux Falls Sees Big Gas Price Spike…Again!
If it feels like your wallet is getting lighter every time you pull up to the gas pump, you're not imagining it. Gas prices in Sioux Falls have taken another big jump.
According to the latest AAA figures, the average price for regular unleaded in Sioux Falls reached about $4.02 per gallon on September 9.
Thursday's national gas price average is $4.28 a gallon.
That's up roughly 23 cents in just one week, from $3.80. It's also about 28 cents higher than a month ago and more than $1.10 higher than a year ago.
And it isn't just gasoline. Diesel prices have been getting hammered, too.
Sioux Falls' average diesel price reached about $5.54 per gallon, setting a record high for the city.
One reason for the latest pain at the pump is the price of crude oil. Oil prices surged this week as escalating attacks and tensions in the Middle East raised concerns about global oil supplies.
