September Slowdowns: New Sioux Falls Street Projects Get Underway
A series of traffic slowdowns await motorists here in the Sioux Empire as we start a new week.
Dakota News Now is reporting that four different constriction projects get underway on Monday, (September 9) and another one ramps up on Tuesday, the 10th.
Beginning today, North Presentation Court will be closed on the south side of Presentation Street to allow street crews to repair the concrete valley gutter. Drivers will need to utilize Presentation Street to enter and exit the neighborhood. Motorists might want to consider alternate travel routes if possible. That project should wrap up in a week if Mother Nature cooperates.
A lane closure on 69th Street will also be getting underway on Monday. Sidewalk repairs need to be made in the vicinity of Hemingstone Trail and Landau Circle. Therefore, the outside eastbound lane of West 69th Street in that neighborhood will be closed for about one week.
Dakota News Now also reports that Xcel Energy is kicking off a power pole project that will force the outside westbound lane on East 57th Street to close west of Southeastern Avenue. This project should be completed by Wednesday, (September 11).
Xcel Energy will also be starting a power line project that will affect the outside eastbound lane on East 26th Street. It will be closed just east of Marday Avenue throughout the day on Monday, (September 9).
And finally, Tull Companies will be replacing rooftop units for Touchmark beginning on Tuesday, (September 10). According to Dakota News Now, that project will force the closure of West 18th Street between Dakota Avenue and Center Avenue for approximately one week.
Street and construction crews ask that drivers use caution and reduce speed when traveling through all these active construction zones.
