UPDATE: I-229 Ramp Crash Results in Attempted Murder Case

Tuesday mornings I-229 ramp closure has now turned into an attempted first degree murder and felony child abuse case.
KSFY TV is reporting that 34-year-old Julia Jacquelyn Alzoubaidi of Sioux Falls has been charged with attempted first degree murder and felony child abuse after she allegedly crash her vehicle with her 6-month old infant child inside early Tuesday morning, (October 16).
Police told KSFY, the vehicle rolled as a result of the crash near the northbound I-229 on-ramp off Minnesota Avenue.
According to KSFY, the initial accident call came into police as a water rescue, and the two were in the water at some point before authorities arrived on scene.
Police were forced to close the ramp until around 9:30 Tuesday morning while the accident was under investigation.
Alzoubaidi is currently being held in custody with a bond set at $250,000.

Keep this in mind during your morning commute today, the I-229 ramp in southeast Sioux Falls is closed at the moment due to an ongoing police investigation.
KSFY TV is reporting that authorities have shutdown the northbound entrance of the I-229 ramp from Minnesota Avenue.
Sioux Falls police sent out a press release around 6:00 AM on Tuesday, (October 16) notifying the public of the closure.
According to KSFY, there has been a large police presence in that area since around 3:30 this morning. At this time, it is not clear as to the reason why other than it appears a car crashed in the area.
KSFY also reports that several police officers have been spotted searching the bike path underneath the interstate in that vicinity.
There is no additional information regarding the apparent accident and ongoing police search available at this time. More details as they become available later today.
