On Tap: Old-Fashioned Pub to Open Thursday in Downtown Sioux Falls
Starting this week residents here in the Sioux Empire will have a new place to relax in downtown Sioux Falls.
Thursday morning (June 1) at 11:00, the Orion Pub opens its doors to the public.
The long wait is finally over for owners Thomas Hentges and Jon Oppold who have been planning the arrival of their new old-fashioned neighborhood pub for some time now.
In early March, news broke that Hentges and Oppold planned to open a new downtown Sioux Falls hangout that would have a relaxed "corner pub vibe" to it, featuring lots of great old-school brews, and a ton of really cool old-school memorabilia, and some timeless music playing in the background throughout.
The Orion's motto pretty much says it all, "If You've Got the Time, We've Got the Beer."
If you're an old guy like me, you undoubtedly remember hearing that Miller Beer catchphrase quite frequently in the late 70s. And if you happen to be a beer lover that appreciates all the old classic brews, the new Orion Pub will have you covered!
Dakota News Now reports they will have a variety of old-school brews on tap like Pabst Blue Ribbon, Grain Belt, Hamm’s, Coors Banquet, and Miller High Life.
In addition to those classics, The Orion also plans to serve up some local entertainment on occasion, and if you're a big fan of Sunny's Pizza, that will eventually be on the menu too. Look for Sunny's Pizza to become available about a month after The Orion opens.
The Orion will be open daily to patrons 21 and older from 11:00 AM to Midnight at 127 West 10th Street, right in the heart of downtown Sioux Falls.
