His failure as a Viking does make Brett F'n Favre a Viking legend to me.

I'm a lifer Viking, I know...it hurts.  But what really hurt was letting this grandstanding, gunslinging, text sending, croc wearing, narcissistic playing quarterback even suit up for the Vikes.

Go ahead and tell me he took the Vikes to the NFC Championship.  I know!

Only to "Favre" the Vikes in classic movie fashion. Typical gunslinger and overall douche. This means that unlike other co-workers of mine, I would never wear a number 4 Minnesota Viking Jersey unless of course, I was paying tribute to Payton and Eli Manning's Daddy Archie Manning who was actually Number 4 for your Vikes from 1983-84.

I respected Brett as a Packer because he loved throwing clutch interceptions.

I knew when the Pack kicked him to the curb preferring the up-and-coming Aaron Rodgers, that Favre was still wanting revenge against Green Bay.  But Green Bay made him take a year off with the New York Jets and apparently sending the staffers "dick pics".

So the rest is history...but now Brett Farve is back in the news!  Taking close to a million dollars for doing very little for a Mississippi family charity group (alleged charity group).

OH NO!

Get up Favre!

Get up and explain why your Levi/Tommy Copper endorsing self can't show up for some scheduled rah-rah sessions for a home state Mississippi Welfare Fund charity.  But to his credit...those sessions weren't scheduled?  So Brett got the cash and was waiting on the calls.  Calls that apparently never came.

So...the Favre camp figures let's just hang on to that money, shall we?

Favre defended himself in May 2020, saying he believed he was being paid for a role in public service announcements and advertisements that ran for years in Mississippi.  Tell 'em about what Brett said Fox Business...

"I did ads that ran for three years, was paid for it, no different than any other time that I’ve done endorsements for other people, and I went about my way," Favre said. "For [the auditor] to say I took $1.1 million and didn’t show up for speaking engagements is absolutely 100% not true."

Nope, It's moving into civil litigation and there's a lot of legal wording so let's get the lowdown from Mississippi Today..

On Tuesday, Favre at last received a demand: He must pay the state $828,000 or face a civil lawsuit.

“The sum demanded represents illegal expenditures of public funds made to you or to
entities or combines for which you are legally obligated to pay and/or the unlawful dispositions of public property, including public funds, made with you or with entities or combines for which you are legally responsible to pay,” the letter reads. “These illegal expenditures and unlawful dispositions were made when you knew or had reason to know through the exercise of reasonable diligence that the expenditures were illegal and/or the dispositions were unlawful.”

The auditor’s office sent out letters demanding repayment from Favre and 14 other individuals or organizations for a total of $77 million in misspent welfare dollars. These demands do not represent criminal allegations.

Favre had already promised to voluntarily pay the money back, claiming he did not know the funds came from a federal grant called Temporary Assistance for Needy Families — the anti-poverty program known as welfare.

So it ain't all on Brett.  Just like that Viking playoff loss.  I mean Adrian Peterson had that soul-crushing fumble after all.  Saying a charity got "Favred" is a phrase I can understand cuz he still seems like a douche.

ps...Brett Favre hasn't been charged with anything so don't think I said he was.  Green Bay Fans can get a less Viking orientation on the story by clicking CBS SPORTS, FOX BUSINESS, even a NY TIMES article from a year ago where Brett coughed up half a million to the cause.
