Minnesota National Park Named An ‘Underrated American Treasure’
The Discoverer is a travel website and blog that culls travel experiences from all kinds of travelers and writers, not just travel agencies.
Their search for "underrated American treasures" took them all over the country from Arkansas to Oregon, from Alaska to New York. They also found themselves in Minnesota.

They got some help choosing the least visited national treasures by checking out a report from CNN. This report indicated that Voyageurs National Park in Minnesota was one of the least visited National Parks in America.
The Discoverer did the traveling and found a beautiful park on Minnesota's northern border near Canada. With over 218,000 acres, over a third of which is covered with lakes and waterways. So water activities like boating, fishing and kayaking are huge.
All camping at the park requires a watercraft in the summer or you could even take a guided boat tour around the park's 30 lakes and along the way see a lot of wildlife.
Another bonus to visiting this remote and beautiful park is the lack of light pollution, so it is also an amazing place to take in the stars and the northern lights.
No wonder The Discoverer has included Voyageurs National Park on its list of "12 Highly Underrated American Treasures"!
