Massive Chicken Nugget Recall Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota
Thousands of pounds of Chicken Nuggets have been recalled in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, and across the nation.
Perdue Farms has issued a significant recall of approximately 160,000 pounds of chicken nuggets due to potential metal contamination.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has classified this as a Class I recall, indicating a high health risk.
The affected products were distributed nationwide and sold in various retail stores.
The recall specifically targets 14.6-ounce packages of "Perdue Fun Shapes Chicken Breast Nuggets" with a "best if used by" date of March 11, 2024.
The products bear the establishment number "P-369" inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The contamination was discovered after consumer complaints about finding small pieces of metal in the nuggets.
While no injuries or adverse reactions have been reported so far, the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is concerned that some consumers may still have these products in their freezers.
The USDA strongly urges consumers who have purchased these chicken nuggets to either return them to the place of purchase or dispose of them immediately.
Consumers should not consume these products under any circumstances.
