Madison Junior Scores Perfect On ACT
Kickin' Country would like to publicly congratulate Jackson Richards, a junior at Madison High School for having a perfect score on this year's ACT test!
Nationally, 1.7 million high school students took the ACT test this year. Only 781 scored a perfect score.
This year, Jackson Richards, a junior at Madison High School scored one hundred percent. He is the only student in South Dakota to earn a perfect score on the standardized college entrance exam. South Dakota averages about one a year who scores a perfect 36 on the exam.
Richards scored a 36 on his second try. He scored a 31 his first time.
The test is scored on a scale of 1-36 and is a composite score of English, math, reading and science.
Madison High is working to find out if Richards is the only one from MHS to score a perfect test. Sharon Knowlton, the principal, acknowledges that over the years, some students have scored a 35, but Richards is the first student she knows in Madison to score a 36.
Richards plans to study piano in college. He also plans to take the SAT test.
