The small town of Luverne, Minnesota, will welcome the sights and sounds of fall this Saturday, September 27, as it hosts the 74th annual Tri-State Band Festival. This year, three Sioux Falls high schools—Sioux Falls Christian, Sioux Falls Lutheran, and O’Gorman— will join 13 other bands for a day full of music and tradition. Twelve marching bands will step off in the morning parade, filling Luverne’s streets with drumbeats and brass as cool autumn air drifts through town. Later, eight bands will face off in the field competition show at Luverne High School, showing off their precision and school spirit.
The crisp air, turning leaves, and smell of warm drinks create the perfect fall backdrop for the music. Fans can cheer for their favorite bands, bundle up in blankets, and enjoy the energy that comes with football season and community pride.
