Joey Logano Wins Chase Eliminator at Talladega

Joey Logano withstood a chaotic finish to win his third straight race, capturing NASCAR’s CampingWorld.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama on Sunday afternoon. With the victory, Logano completed a sweep of the second round of the 2015 Chase for the Sprint Cup.

Logano took the checkered flag under caution after consecutive green-white-checkered restart attempts resulted in wrecks. Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished second, but he needed to win to advance to the third round of the Chase. Earnhardt Jr., Ryan Newman, Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth were cut from the Chase field on Sunday.

Brad Keselowski finished third on Sunday with Jeff Gordon in fourth and Paul Menard in fifth.

Logano, Keselowski, Gordon, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards and Martin Truex Jr. remained alive in the Chase, which continues next Sunday at Martinsville Speedway.
