The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning in effect from midnight tonight through 6:00 am Saturday morning for southern Minnesota.

The Winter Storm Warning includes Dodge, Faribault, Freeborn, Goodhue, Le Sueur, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Waseca, and Steele Counties (+more).

Heavy snow will be possible, with total snow accumulations of 5 to 7 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

The Twin Cities metro area is included in a Winter Storm Watch.
