Gary, MN (KROC-AM News)- A teenage boy lost his life in a fiery crash with a semi truck in northwestern Minnesota

It happened in Norman County shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The teen was driving a car. 

The state crash report indicates the car was traveling west and the semi was traveling east on Hwy. 200 about 60 miles northeast of the Fargo-Moorhead area when the vehicles collided.

The semi then caught on fire. Officials described the deceased teen as a 17-year-old boy from the small town of Gary, MN.

The State Patrol plans to release the teenager's name and other information surrounding his death Tuesday afternoon. 76-year-old Jerry Alfred Wang from Winger, MN was driving the semi.

He was treated at the scene for what are described as non-life-threatening injuries. Wang was buckled up and the road was dry at the time of the fatal and fiery collision

Alcohol was not involved in the tragic crash, the report says.
