Hockey Day Minnesota May Be More Popular Than Mother’s Day!

From the time they're old enough to hold that stick and put on the first pair of blades, another generation is born into the sport of hockey. Moms and dads all across the state in a kid's life know what lies ahead of them once the ice is introduced at an early age. Morning practices before school, late-night laundry, and any free time in between mean dragging them off the ice just to eat and sleep.

We're just a couple of weeks away from the greatest day of winter. On January 28 the State of Hockey will celebrate the 17th Annual Hockey Day Minnesota beginning at Polar Lakes Park in White Bear Township.

Hockey Day Minnesota Schedule
9:30 AM Stillwater vs. White Bear Lake (Girls) at Polar Lakes Park
1:00 PM Hermantown vs. Mahtomedi (Boys) at Polar Lakes Park
4:30 PM Hill Murray vs. White Bear Lake (Boys) at Polar Lakes Park
8:00 PM Minnesota Wild vs. Buffalo Sabres at Xcel Energy Center

The above lineup will be broadcast on Bally Sports North featuring over 16 hours of original hockey programming beginning at 9:00 AM.

Not a part of the Hockey Day Minnesota lineup but still a huge interest is the Minnesota Golden Gopher men's hockey match against Michigan State, 4:00 PM at 3M Arena at Mariucci.

If you're from Minnesota all eyes will be on Hockey Day Minnesota.
