Traffic Flow Change Coming to I-229 Overpass in Sioux Falls

Drivers in Sioux Falls will be greeted with a new route on a busy overpass this week.

Starting Wednesday (October 4) the traffic pattern across the Western Avenue bridge at Interstate 229 will change.

That day, traffic will be shifted to the west side of the bridge where two lanes in each direction will be maintained.

Barring weather delays, this traffic pattern will be in place for approximately one week.

The bridge is expected to fully reopen sometime in November.
