The days of getting your water or electric bill via 'snail mail' in Sioux Falls are over.

The city is rolling out an upgraded website and a new mobile phone app which will give customers a whole new way to access their services.

It's called OneMeter, and the city is promoting it as featuring:

'...a more user-friendly interface and design, paperless billing and autopay options, account alerts to avoid missing a payment, and usage tracking, both historical and against local temperature and rainfall totals to see how weather affects utility bills'.

To access the new service, customers will need to create a OneMeter account using their existing 17-digit account number with the city. That number can be found on the latest paper utility statement.

The city says future OneMeter enhancements are planned, including daily usage data and alerts for potential high usage or leaks.

Consumers can download the mobile app by searching for 'MyMeter' in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Once downloaded, select 'Sioux Falls Utilities', then 'Register Account'.

Using the website and mobile app are optional. No action is necessary if you want to maintain your current billing and payment preferences.
