Popular Sioux Falls Grocery Store Giving Away Free Ham This Week
The Easter season is up and hopping around the Sioux Empire. Many people are spending this time praying, fasting, and giving back to the community. This is also known as almsgiving. One supermarket in Sioux Falls is partnering with first responders and a local non-profit to help those in need this Easter.
Hy-Vee is once again hosting "Ham for the Holidays" this year as part of the Hy-Vee One Step program. Thanks to Feeding South Dakota and first responders, Hy-Vee is giving away 300 FREE Hormel Cure 81® hams to families who are less fortunate than us.
The Hy-Vee One Step program highlights ways to help local communities one step at a time. This includes feeding the hungry, planting trees, or building wells to give everyone access to clean water. There are also specially marked products across Hy-Vee stores that directly benefit the Hy-Vee One Step program like water bottles or a bag of potatoes. "Ham for the Holidays" is part of this initiative.
Beginning at 5 PM on Thursday, March 30th, 300 FREE Hormel Cure 81® hams will be distributed during a drive-thru event at the First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls. A Facebook post from Hy-Vee explains all the details about how your family can receive a ham.
As the Facebook post mentions, these hams are only available while supplies last. The hams are meant to feed those families in need this Easter season. This event wouldn't be possible without the collaborative efforts of Feeding South Dakota, the first responders, and Hy-Vee.
Please share this story with families who need a special gift this Easter season. A little help can go a long way for families that are struggling.
