It's not easy winning to win the lottery. Heck, it's almost impossible. But it does happen to very lucky South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota people who purchase these life-changing tickets.

The Powerball Jackpot drawing occurs every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evening. On Monday night, the $1 billion prize was considered to be the 5th biggest prize in the game's history.  Although there was not a winner for the big jackpot prize, one Powerball Jackpot ticket in Minnesota did win a huge amount of money.

This is not a late April Fool's prank! According to the Powerball Jackpot officials, the lucky ticket was sold in the state of Minnesota. No reports yet from the Powerball Jackpot or Minnesota Lottery about where the ticket was sold in Minnesota. This winning Minnesota ticket is worth...$1 million! It's not $1 billion, but that's still a lot of money.

How did this Minnesota Powerball Jackpot win $1 million? This ticket matched five numbers to win. If the Minnesota ticket picked a Power Play option, then the winning ticket could have been worth $2 million! This Minnesota ticket was one number away from winning the huge $1 billion Powerball Jackpot. Wow!

These were the winning Powerball Jackpot numbers from Monday night:

19, 24, 40, 42, 56, and the Powerball was 23. The Power Play was 2X

The next Powerball Jackpot drawing will be on Wednesday, April 3rd. The estimated Powerball Jackpot is estimated at... a whopping $1.09 billion. All you need is one ticket for a chance to win a lot of money!

Good luck and happy playing!
