I realize that complaining about the weather is futile, but could I make a request at least? I'd prefer if the weather in Illinois could make up its mind as we've had unseasonably warm temperatures, but that's about to be interrupted by an arctic blast that will suddenly roar across the state this week.

This warning comes directly from the National Weather Service in Illinois. Their "weather story" today is all about the incoming bitterly cold air that's about to (as they say it) "roar through the area" beginning Wednesday and continuing into the end of the week.

Temperatures across much of Illinois are expected to begin a downward spiral of 20 degrees down over just a 6 hour period. That's a very sudden cold after most of Illinois has been enjoying a very mild December so far.

Oh, by the way temperatures are expected to warm up again after this next arctic blast gets done with us. Highs should be back in the 40's and 50's by the end of the upcoming weekend. Like I said before, the weather in Illinois is a rollercoaster that can't seem to make up its mind.
