Iowa Company Jack Links Is Laying Off Almost 100 Employees
Link Snacks, the company behind the Jack Link's brand, plans to lay off nearly 100 employees.
The layoffs are slated for early 2025 at their facility in Laurens, Iowa.
Laurens, Iowa is a town of about 1270 about 150 miles southeast of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
According to Dakota News Now a notice posted on the Iowa Workforce Development's WARN website stated 91 workers will be laid off on January 24, 2025.
The affected employees were notified of the upcoming layoffs on November 11.
Jack Link's Snacks produces a variety of products including beef jerky and the Cold Crafted Linkwich
Jack Link's is headquartered in Minong, Wisconsin, and also has a location in Underwood, Iowa. The
Laurens facility primarily handles transportation and warehousing operations for the company.
This latest round of layoffs at the Laurens plant follows previous mass layoffs in recent years.
State records show 57 people were laid off from the facility in September 2022, and another 46 the following year.
Jack Link's also has facilities in other Midwestern states, including:

- Mankato, Minnesota
- New Glarus, Wisconsin
- Underwood, Iowa
