Mother Nature put the kibosh on the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars Series finale last weekend at Huset's Speedway in Brandon thanks to the intense rainfall and extreme flooding conditions that transpired over a 72-hour period here in the Sioux Empire.

All the precipitation we received made Huset's look more like a beach resort than a dirt track. From the photos I saw, it looked like they could have held boat races out there!

According to Dakota News Now, authorities were forced to rescue dozens of people from the speedway campgrounds on Friday, (June 21) due to the flood waters that swept through the track.

The good news is that things are beginning to dry up, and the racing season is about to ramp up again. Huset's is getting ready to drop the flag on the next big event of the season, the "Metro Construction Night - MSTS 410 Sprint Car Races" on Sunday, (July 7).

Take a look at Huset's 2024 schedule of events here.

And remember, if you're still holding tickets to the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars Series finale, don't throw them away. Huset's has rescheduled that race for Labor Day Weekend, with a triple header set to take off on Saturday, (August 31).

Race organizers told Dakota News Now that anyone with tickets to last weekend's race can use them over the Labor Day holiday weekend.

LOOK: Cool Car Features We Kind of Miss

Kids these days don't know what they're missing out on! But hey, let's be real, some of those old car features were pretty awesome. Yeah, they might've been a bit risky and even tried to kill us, but they made our rides feel way cooler.
