Celebrate Independence Day in Humboldt!

Small towns are really the place to hang out during this summer season! It seems like every one of them is having a special summer event. This July Fourth weekend, Humboldt, South Dakota is throwing their Main Street Days Celebration, with something for everyone!

Beginning on Friday, July 3rd, things get underway at the Humboldt Main Street Bar with Patriotic -Themed Trivia at 7 PM, then Karaoke gets started at 9 PM with a prize for the best patriotic outfit.

On Saturday, July 4, fill your tummy with a yummy Fireman's Breakfast from 8:30 to 11 AM.

Explore Unique Finds at the Vendor Fair and Admire Classic Rides at the Car Show

The Humboldt Vendor Fair kicks off at 10 AM and goes on throughout the day at the lot north of the N'Rich Office. You'll find all kinds of crafts, baked goods, clothing, and much more.

The Car & Bike Show on Main Street starts at 10 AM and goes until 2 PM. There will be trophies given out for the top 2 vehicles per class, and 14th Annual Humboldt Car Show Dash plaques will be given to the first 125 car show participants. “People’s Choice Awards” will be given for the Best Overall, Best Chevy, Best Ford, Best Mopar, and Best Bike.

There will be tons of things to keep the kids busy on Saturday, including Kids Dig for Treasure (for ages 1 to 5) at the Volleyball Pit, Kids games (for ages 4 to 11) at noon, and also face painting and balloons from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

A Parade, Live Music and Competitive Games Keep the Afternoon Rolling

Of course, there will be a parade that starts at 2:45 PM.

Then the Main Street Musicfest begins at 3 PM, along with the Huge Beanbag Tourney ($20 per team, double elimination). The Street Dance with Serious Shirley gets underway at 9 PM. This is a free event, and no coolers are allowed.

Cap Off the Night with a Spectacular Fireworks Display!

When sunset rolls around, there will be a huge fireworks display courtesy of the Humboldt Bar and the City of Humboldt.
