Human Trafficking Affects South Dakota Women
When you hear about human trafficking in South Dakota, you may think of transient women on their way through the state, but Kimberly La Plante with Tapestry International says it’s happening to South Dakota women as well and they help about ten women a month.
Melissa is one those helped by the organization Tapestry International and their Call to Freedom initiative after being trafficked by a family member here in South Dakota.
Melissa now supports herself, lives in her own apartment and just got a promotion at work. She still thinks of other women who need the help.
