Some much needed heavy rain is heading for portions of Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota.
The National Weather Service In Sioux Falls South Dakota is reporting that rain, locally moderate to heavy at times, is expected to prevail across the region Monday through Tuesday morning. Accumulations look to range from a quarter of an inch to 2 inches.
A few rumbles of thunder will also be possible this evening in northeast Nebraska, northwest Iowa, and far southeast South Dakota with some potentially brief higher rainfall rates.
Expect Strong west wind from 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.
