Enjoy Holiday Magic With Santa At The Great Plains Zoo
Each December, the Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls becomes a warm and whimsical holiday escape, and this year’s Santa at the Zoo event on Saturday, December 6, from 10 AM to 2 PM promises to bring that magic to life once again. Families can bundle up and wander the peaceful winter pathways, visiting both Santa Claus and their favorite animals during this festive four-hour celebration.

As you make your way through the zoo, keep your eyes peeled—there are playful whispers that the Mean One himself might just make a surprise appearance. But don’t worry, the holiday cheer more than outweighs his mischief.
Inside the lobby, kids can enjoy special meet-and-greets with ambassador animals from 10 a.m. to noon, giving them a chance to get up close with some of the zoo’s most charming creatures. A cozy craft station invites little ones to write and hand-deliver their own letters to Santa, adding a personal touch to their visit.
