If you’ve recently cooked with a Granitestone sauté pan, you may want to take a closer look at it.

Granitestone has announced a major recall involving approximately 740,000 sauté pan sets due to a potential safety hazard that could lead to burns or injuries. The recall, issued April 2 by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, centers on the Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue stainless steel sauté pans.

According to officials, the issue stems from a small but dangerous defect. The metal cap that secures the handle to the pan can loosen over time. When the pan is heated, that cap may suddenly detach and forcefully eject, posing both impact and burn risks to anyone nearby.

The recalled product was sold as a two-piece set, including 10-inch and 11.5-inch pans. Consumers can identify the set with UPC number 0-80313-08131-6.

Distributor E Mishan & Sons, Inc. reports at least 98 incidents involving the defect. In one case, a consumer suffered bruising and burn injuries after the metal cap detached during use.

The pans were widely available at major retailers, including Costco, as well as online through Amazon and Walmart. They were sold between August 2021 and February 2026 for around $40, making them a common find in many kitchens.

Consumers who own the affected pans are urged to stop using them immediately. Granitestone advises customers to contact the company for a full refund. As part of the recall process, buyers will be asked to return the pans.
