BREAKING: Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Washington, DC.

According to two sources familiar with the matter who spoke to CNN, former South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem was taken to the DC hospital on Tuesday.

One source confirmed that Noem was conscious upon arrival and had communicated with her security detail.

Reports indicate the ambulance was escorted by multiple Secret Service vehicles approximately 45 minutes before initial reports emerged.

CBS News is reporting that DHS Secretary Kristi Noem was brought to the hospital due to an allergic reaction.

Noem, who previously served as South Dakota's governor from 2019 to 2025, was confirmed as Homeland Security Secretary in January 2025.

The Department of Homeland Security has not yet released an official statement regarding Secretary Noem's condition or the circumstances surrounding her hospitalization.
