You're going to to want to get up extra early on Christmas Day this year. For the first time since 1977, there will be full moon on Christmas Day.

You'll be able to see the bright Christmas orb on Christmas Eve, but the December moon will reach its peak size at 5:11 AM CST on December 25, 2015.

Since the two events aligning are pretty rare, you won't see it again until 2034.
