Easter egg hunts are nothing new. In fact, they've been around since the 16th century, when protestant reformer Martin Luther organized egg hunts for his congregation.

The egg was the symbol of life in pagan spring festivals, and "From a Christian perspective, Easter eggs are said to represent Jesus' emergence from the tomb and resurrection" (History Channel).

Regardless of the history behind it, Easter egg hunts have become a springtime ritual and the Sioux Falls area has plenty of them to look forward to. Some free, some with fees, all of them - fun!
