Update: 06/30/2020 @ 6:44 PM: The National Weather Service issues Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 1:00 AM Wednesday (7/1) for Bon Homme, Hanson, McCook, Union, Clay, Hutchinson, Minnehaha, Lincoln, Yankton, Davison, and Turner counties and several counties in east-central South Dakota.

Dakota News Now meteorologist Phil Schrek says "be weather aware tonight" as strong systems fueled by high humidity could result in severe weather for eastern South Dakota tonight, June 30, 2020.

The temperatures hovered over 90-degrees on Tuesday and Sioux Falls residents opted for indoor lunches instead of patios.

The chance of rain stands at 80% later this evening with rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible. The National Weather Service added that eastern South Dakota could see large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall.
