Police have released the name of the man that was shot to death in downtown Sioux Falls on Saturday morning (October 26).

KSFY TV is reporting the victim is 37-year-old Benjamin Donahue III.

Sioux Falls Public Information Officer Sam Clemens told KSFY on Monday, that Donahue III knew the suspect in the case, 36-year-old Max Bolden of Sioux Falls, and the two men had a history of not getting along.

Police are still searching for Bolden at this time.

According to Clemens, the shooting that happened around 1:00 AM near the intersection of West 10th Street and South Main Avenue was the result of an altercation involving the two men.

Witnesses told police that prior to the shooting, the two men had a brief exchange in the Carnegie Hall parking lot across the street from Club David. Bolden eventually pulled out a gun and shot Donahue III twice in the head.

KSFY reports that immediately after the shooting, Bolden got into a white Ford Explorer and left the scene heading south on Main Avenue.

Authorities have already located one vehicle that may be connected to the shooting, a gray Dodge Charger. They are still attempting to find the white Ford Explorer.

A warrant has been issued for Bolden for 1st-degree murder, 2nd-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police are asking for any tips the public may be able to provide to help them in their search for the suspect.

Should you spot Bolden, authorities ask that you not approach him. Instead, please call 911 right away.
