The deadly bird flu has been confirmed again in a large turkey flock in Minnesota.

CBS is reporting that the Avian Flu was found this week in a flock of 140,000 turkeys in Meeker County, Minnesota which is just northwest of Minneapolis.

The Minnesota Board of Animal Health the whole flock was “depopulated” to prevent the spread of the highly contagious and deadly virus.

In 2022 over 100 Minnesota farms were devastated with avian influenza which resulted in over 3.5 million birds having to be destroyed.

According to the Associated Press, “Bird flu infections in humans are relatively rare and aren't considered a food safety risk.

But as it hits other species, including some mammals, scientists fear the virus could evolve to spread more easily among people.

Cambodia this week reported its third human death from bird flu this year.”
