Officials say the defect creates a serious fall hazard that could lead to severe injuries or even death.

The recalled swings were manufactured by World Bright International and sold exclusively at Costco stores between February 2026 and March 2026.

Approximately 18,500 units are affected nationwide.

The patio swings feature a black metal frame, black metal swing arms, a fabric canopy, and a brown padded wicker seat. Consumers are being urged to stop using the swing immediately and inspect the serial number. The recalled product carries serial number 1934256.

The official recall date was May 14, 2026. Consumers are advised to contact Costco or the manufacturer for repair information and additional instructions regarding the recall process.

Federal safety officials say multiple injuries have already been reported after parts of the swing reportedly broke off during use.

Anyone who owns the recalled swing should avoid using it until repairs have been completed.

More information about the recall can be found through the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website or by contacting Costco customer service.
