Violence Erupts Sunday at out-of-Control Sioux Falls House Party
We've all been to some wild house parties before, you know the kind where you have one too many libations, and the next thing you know, you and a group of people are singing the theme to "Gilliagan's Island" inside your neighbor's boat that is parked out in front of their house.
Just one problem, your neighbor wasn't invited to the party, and unbeknownst to you, your neighbor's wife is standing on her doorstep watching a bunch of drunken idiots try to start her boat sitting in its trailer. That type of thing usually never ends well.
Over the weekend in Sioux Falls, there was a similar situation, only this particular house party ended up being a whole lot crazier and much more violent.
Dakota News Now is reporting that an out-of-control house party broke out early Sunday morning resulting in multiple fights, and gunshots allegedly being fired.
Sioux Falls police received a call around 5:45 AM on Sunday, (August 18) for what sounded like gunshots being discharged near a residence in the area of South Shirley Place, just off 41st Street.
The report states that police discovered a fight had taken place inside a house party at that location. By the time authorities arrived, several of the partygoers had already split up and moved to an alternate location, a nearby parking lot, where another fight ensued.
According to Dakota News Now, someone from within the group assembled in the parking lot attempted to hit the other attendees at the gathering with a vehicle.
Police were able to apprehend the driver of the car a short time later and charge them with aggravated assault.
No word on what precipitated the fights, and all the other chaos. However, the incident resulted in no injuries being reported, and no additional charges filed related to the gunshots fired.
