Sioux Falls to Welcome Its First Chalk Art Competition This Summer
Chalk up something else fun to do later this summer in Sioux Falls.
If you're an artist or if you get a kick out of looking at the artwork created by others, this will more than likely interest you.
The first-ever Chalk Sioux Falls is coming to Lyons Centennial Park on East Marson Drive in Sioux Falls on August 2.
That day, artists from all over the Sioux Empire will be creating temporary masterpieces on the sidewalks inside Centennial Park.

The more creative, the better!
According to Dakota News Now, the event is designed to allow people to show off their creative abilities while participating in a friendly little competition between artists.
Those in attendance will be given a token that they can toss into cans in front of their favorite chalk drawings. You guessed it, the artist with the most tokens upon the completion of the event will be announced the winner.
It's absolutely amazing the chalk drawings that some people are capable of making.
The detail and creativity that go into some of these works of art found on neighborhood sidewalks are astounding sometimes.
I work with a person who possesses that skill set, and some of the drawings she has created out of chalk will blow your mind. I can barely draw a stickman, much less the face of a roaring lion, on a sidewalk out of chalk.
