Snow, Big Wind, Rain, and Ice are forecast for Valentine's Day in parts of Minnesota and South Dakota.

Blizzard Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota.

The National Weather Service has issued A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY will be in effect from 6 pm Tuesday Evening until 9 am Wednesday morning for Kingsbury, Brookings, Lake, Moody, and Minnehaha counties in South Dakota.

This also includes Lyon, Lincoln, Murray, Cottonwood, Nobles, Pipestone, and Rock counties in Minnesota.

Snow is expected with accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Rapidly falling temperatures Tuesday evening and overnight could lead to flash-freezing conditions on area roads.

A BLIZZARD WARNING will be in effect from 6 pm Tuesday Evening until 9 am Wednesday morning for Traverse, Big Stone, Marshall, Roberts, Day, Clark, Codington, Grant, Hamlin, and Deuel in South Dakota.

Blizzard conditions are expected with snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches and winds gusting as high as 55 mph.

Portions of west central Minnesota and northeast South Dakota can expect Blizzard conditions from 6 pm this evening to 9 am Wednesday morning.

Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commute.

Strong winds could cause tree damage. The cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
