15.5 Million Laptop Computer Adapters Recalled Due To Fire Hazard
15.5 million Laptop power adapters used in Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota are being recalled because of fire hazards.
Consumer Product Safety Commission says consumers should immediately stop using the recalled AC adapters and contact Dynabook Americas for a free replacement AC adapter.
Dynabook has received 679 reports of the recalled AC power adapters overheating, catching fire, melting, or burning. Out of these reports, 43 cases resulted in minor burn injuries to consumers.
Dynabook, formerly Toshiba, is recalling approximately 15.5 million AC power adapters that were sold separately and included with Toshiba laptops between 2008 and 2014.
These adapters are being recalled due to fire and burn risks, according to an announcement by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The adapters in question were manufactured between April 2008 and December 2012 before being sold individually and packaged with Toshiba laptops until 2014.
