Mountain Lion Caught On Camera On Street of South Dakota Town

Police in this South Dakota town are telling residents a Mountain Lion was spotted going down a street. Keep pets indoors and be aware if you are going out for a walk or jog.

According to the Madison, South Dakota Police Department, a mountain lion was seen and a video was taken of a sighting in the 200 block of NE 1st Street around 11:30 pm last night.

The mountain lion was believed to have been spotted traveling north.

At this time, we have received no other reported sightings of the mountain lion.

In a VIDEO posted by the Madison Police, they encourage all citizens to keep their pets indoors and to be aware if they are planning on going for a walk or jog.

The South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks was notified of the sighting.

Another sighting occurred earlier this evening about 4 miles south of Madison.

At this time they believe the mountain lion is likely just traveling through the area.
