What You Need to Know About the Great Plains Zoo Boo
It's a great Sioux Falls tradition that supports one of Sioux Falls and South Dakota's treasures. The Great Plains Zoo's "Zoo Boo" is coming up this week with several days of great activities you should know about.
This year as always there are activities for kids and adults alike and something new has been added on Friday, October 18, the Family Fun Boo Run. It is an exclusive opportunity to explore the zoo under the stars and you're encouraged to come in family-friendly costumes to add to the Halloween fun.

- Pre-race yoga with Sioux Falls Flow & Paddle on the Primate Lawn.

- 6:30 pm:
- Race begins - approximately a half-mile of marked path throughout the zoo.

If you're not interested in racing, that's not a problem, the Candy Dash is going on and you can avoid the pre-race lines by coming after 6:15 PM. There will also be the DJ Dance party and the Aerial Fire Show.
The Great Plains Zoo wants Zoo Boo to be an inclusive event and this year they have added a Sensory Saturday experience on October 19. From 9 to 10 AM Saturday morning is the time set aside for those with sensory issues. The number of people allowed will be low and Empower U will be there providing sensory activities.
The rest of the day on Saturday, see your favorite animals, trick-or-treat, and take fun photos with some of your favorite characters.
Sunday, October 20 from 10 AM to 5 PM is the final day of Zoo Boo, you can explore our amazing zoo, see hundreds of pumpkins, get candy and other goodies from some great booths, say hello and have your photos taken with more of the Simply Ever After characters, and get an early start on your Halloween fun!
