VOA Spirit Trees Need Your Help to Make Christmas Happen
Volunteers of America (VOA) has been serving the Sioux Falls community for over 100 years and this Christmas season they're asking for all of us to get involved to make Christmas a happy one for their clients.
Once again this year VOA has Spirit Trees located all over the Sioux Falls area. You'll find one outside JC Penney at the Empire Mall, you'll find them in all the Lewis stores and also at the Washington Pavilion.
On the trees, you'll find wishes from clients at Volunteers of America, but unlike many wish trees, these are wishes from children and adults. You might find requests for toys, but also for blankets, kitchen items, hygiene kits, and more.
VOA's mission is to guide people to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. To that end, they help people with behavioral issues, support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, strengthen those dealing with homelessness, and much more.
The Director of Community Engagement, Lindsey Madsen says that the deadline for placing gifts back under the Spirit Trees is Monday, December 16. So when you're out shopping this weekend please purchase something extra for a VOA child or adult in need.
Your simple gift can have a huge impact on someone receiving help from Volunteers of America and imagine how good you'll feel about yourself!
